ARN was a simple radio streaming app. In 2014, we worked with ARN to enable content and make it a two-way app through a messaging system. A system wherein listeners could talk to their favorite channel about the content, favorite DJs, and the channel itself, among other things.
The emotion sensing from messages as well as the data on time spent on the channels, helped radio stations to design their programs, identify the most popular slots, and identify user locations.
This enabled targeted advertising. This helped the ARN to cater exactly to what the audience wanted and increase revenue.
Since deploying the Messenger app, ARN now receives over 20 million messages from users every year – a steep growth from 1 million messages. The emotion sensing from messages as well as the data on time spent on the channels, helped radio stations to design their programs, identify the most popular slots, and identify user locations.
This enabled targeted advertising. This helped the ARN to cater exactly to what the audience wanted and increase revenue.
There was a significant increase in advertising revenues generated. New avenues for advertising opened up (audio, video and message pop up ads were possible).
Cross-selling opportunities were many and were utilized effectively.
